The proposed Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital is expected to admit its first patients in 2013. Construction of the new hospital in Johannesburg will start early next year. But much more funding is still needed as one billion rand is required to build the hospital. Today, the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund pledged R42-million towards the project.
