Ncobo abandons SAFA presidential elections

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former referee Ace Ncobo has pulled out of the South African Football Association presidential elections, saying he does not want to be part of an illegitimate process that he says is in breach of the football body’s statutes.

Ncobo walked out of the Safa congress under way in Sandton. This means that current incumbent Danny Jordaan will be re-elected unopposed as Safa president.

It will be Jordaan’s second term after he was elected in 2014.
