Chairperson of the National People’s Front in KwaZulu-Natal, Muzi Hlophe has urged churches to pray for peaceful elections next month.

Hlophe was addressing congregants at the Ambassadors in Christ Zion church at Mtubatuba in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

In the past four years, the area has been affected by factional fighting in which many people have been killed. Hlophe says the Church can play an important role in bringing peace and stability to the area.

“I just asked them to pray for the elections also to pray for our South Africa more especially the religion and the Christianity that is being affected by these hungry lion of pastors who are coming from out of the country in other countries to come here and misbehave using the name of God. For them to contribute and protect our Christianity,” says Hlophe.
