The N1 between Pretoria and Polokwane continues to carry heavy traffic volumes as holiday makers rush to various destinations in Limpopo for the Christmas holidays.
Traffic authorities say no fatalities have been reported on the province’s major routes since Friday.
Motorists who were avoiding the traffic congestion on Friday only started with their journeys Saturday morning.
Transport department spokesperson Matome Moremi says no major crashes and fatalities were reported overnight.
Moremi says 92 people have been killed on the province’s roads since the beginning of the festive season.
Moremi has urged motorists to always obey traffic rules to help clamp down on fatalities.
