Members of a factional group, the Revolutionary Council in the North West say the threats of legal action will not silence them.

This comes after the embattled premier Supra Mahumapelo threatened them with legal action for what he called spreading lies about him.

Last week after he reneged on his pledge to resign as premier, Mahumapelo accused the council members of inciting violent protests.

The council’s spokesperson Thato Magogodi says they are ready to tackle Mahumapelo.

He says: “We continue now to be on the offensive, to drive the case that Ntate Mahumapelo is not the right person to be at the helm of the North West in terms of Chairpersonship of the ANC and most importantly his leadership role in government.”

“We are not going to change things because he threatens to take us on legally. We have a strong case and the issues that we have raised are in the public domain. If he wants to go to court we are ready for him,” says Magogodi.
