North West Health MEC Dr Magome Masike says a pre-payment of R30 million made to a company linked to the Gupta family and a further R180 million which was made available without tender processes, is a subject of investigation.
Disgruntled employees blew the whistle on suspicious deals and payments, to the tune of R30 million in advance payments to Mediosa, a Gupta shelf company.
The Department is further engulfed in a series of cases of corruption and fraud.
The department has confirmed it has dismissed several senior managers for tender corruption.
Masike says law enforcement agencies are hard at work.
“That is a subject of a forensic investigation as we speak. Until I get the total information, I rather wait until I get the report… ”
