N.Cape needs funds to employ more medical practitioners

The Northern Cape Department of Health is pinning its hope on the Province’s Treasury for a budget to employ medical personnel.

The Department faces a shortage of medics in the province’s hospitals with at least 116 posts remaining vacant.

Department spokesperson Lebogang Majaha admits that more money is still needed despite the Department receiving more than 4-million-rand for the 2018/2019 financial year.

“There is a growing need for us to have some of these medical practitioners in our facilities so that will be dependent on the process of engaging treasury,” says Majaha.
