A MyCiti bus and station have been set alight at Race Course Road near Milnerton in Cape Town. This is the second bus to be torched in the area this weekend as protests continue in Du Noon.

Traffic spokesperson Maxine Bezuidenhout says protesters are burning tyres in the area forcing road closures. She says affected routes include a section of Potsdam Road, between Sati and Malibongwe Road. Police and traffic services are on scene.

Bezuidenhout says no injuries were reported in Saturday night’s incident, “At approximately 10′ o’clock last night a MyCiti bus was set alight on Race Course Road between Omarumamba and Koeberg Road. The incident occurred on Red Road and no injuries were reported. Race Course Road was reopened before 11pm.”
