The 23-year old man arrested in connection with the murder of a student from the Mangosuthu University of Technology will on Thursday appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court for a bail application.
Thabani Mzolo was arrested for the shooting of second year student Zolile Khumalo at the institution’s external residence in Durban two weeks ago.
Zolile was allegedly shot several times by Mzolo who suspected she was cheating on him.
After the shooting Mzolo allegedly posted messages of regret for the incident on social media .
In his last appearance, the Magistrate revealed that Mzolo had given them two false addresses.
He is facing charges of murder and illegal possession of a fire-arm and ammunition.
Zolile was laid to rest on Saturday.
