Music legend and producer, Dan Tshanda will be laid to rest at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg on Friday. The funeral service will be held at Palm Bible Church in Dlamini, Soweto. Tshanda died on January 5 in Sandton after a short illness.

Last Friday, fellow musicians, his fans and government officials paid tribute to him at his memorial service at the Baseline in Newtown, Johannesburg. Tshanda produced music for groups such as Splash and Dalom Kids in the 1980s.

Family Spokesperson Moudy Mudzielwana says the service will start at 8:30 on Friday morning.

‘We’ve got a lot of people that are coming from Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia that are already in the country. People from all over are welcome. We will leave the family at 7:30 am, going to Palm Bible Church, 2123 Lufhubu Street, that’s at Dlamini Ext. That’s where we’re planning to start our session at 8:30 am. And then we’re going to have a normal service.  By 11:00 to 11:30, we’ll be leaving to Wespark Cemetery, where Dan will be laid to rest.”
