Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe could respond to his wife’s request to name his preferred successor on Friday.
Grace Mugabe was speaking at a meeting of the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (Zanu- PF) Women’s League, which she heads, in Harare.
She is regarded as a possible contender to take over from her husband.
The 93-year-old veteran leader has been visiting Singapore more often in recent months for medical treatment.
Mugabe will be speaking in his home town of Chinhoyi on Friday and observers believe he will respond to his wife’s request.
