As tributes continue to pour in for late jazz maestro Hugh Masekela, Minister of Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa, has also passed his condolences to Masekela’s family, friends and countless fans.
Masekela died on Tuesday after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Speaking on SABC’s Morning Live, Minister Mthethwa said: “The interesting thing about bra Hugh is that many people would wish that when they pass on, they would think – so how’s the legacy going to go on. But he experienced his legacy whilst he was still alive, he with ease got along across generations, he was at home with peers, younger generation and younger generation. Bra Hugh was able to get the message across.”
