Correctional Service class of 2021 obtains 89.83% pass rate: Lamola

The class of 2021 who wrote exams at Correctional Service Centres has obtained an 89.83% matric pass rate. Justice Minister Ronald Lamola released the 2021 matric results at the Barberton Correctional Centre in Mpumalanga.

Out of the 191 inmates, who wrote the matric examination last year, 147 of them passed.

The inmates’ top achiever is Faba Khanyile who is serving a sentence at Brandvlei Youth Centre in the Western Cape.

He obtained seven distinctions. Khanyile intends to study electrical engineering.

“I am so proud of myself, I feel more confidence  in myself, my self-esteem has also improved, it shows I can do anything that I can put my mind in moving forward I want to challenge myself and do something exceptional.”
