Mpumalanga govt investigating diarrhoea outbreak

The Mpumalanga government says over 1 300 cases of diarrhoea have been reported in health care facilities in the Mbombela Municipality.

The premier’s spokesperson Zibonele Mncwango says the Ehlanzeni District Municipality, the Water and Sanisation Department and the City of Mbombela conducted water tests in an effort to establish the source of the problem.

“The provincial government has expressed a serious concern about the outbreak of diarrhoea in Mbombela. It has not yet established as to what is causing this out brake. However it is urging the citizens to exercise precautions, by boiling water and continuously washing their hands and food”.
