Businesses in the Thaba Chweu Municipality in Mpumalanga have welcomed the High Court ruling that Eskom should suspend the power interruptions until the end of January.

This comes after the Sabie Chamber of Business and Tourism and other civil society organisations took the matter to court to seek justice.

The court has also ordered Mpumalanga Premier and ANC Deputy President David Mabuza to come up with a solution to the Eskom debt.

The municipality owes Eskom over R400 million which dates back to 2008.
