Former SARS Commissioner Tom Moyane has requested in a letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa to change his dismissal to a suspension.
President Ramaphosa fired Moyane last week following the recommendations by retired Judge Robert Nugent.
Moyane’s lawyers want his termination to be reverted to the suspension status pending a disciplinary hearing.
Moyane also plans to interdict the appointment of the new commissioner if the president does not accede to his demands.
Moyane’s lawyer Eric Mabuza says the president has until Friday to suspend his client’s dismissal.
