Motorists have been warned to avoid N1 north between the 14th avenue off-ramp and Beyers Naude drive in Johannesburg.
This comes after a multiple-vehicle crash in the area.
Traffic reporter, Rob Byrne, says the highway has been closed and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
Byrne says, “There are multiple trucks, multiple cars involved. The highway is closed. The traffic coming from Soweto to Randburg is diverted to 14th avenue. There are long queues on the highway approaching the closure and very heavy traffic on the 14th avenue.
“The option is to avoid it if you can. To get north take the M1 or N3 options.”
