Three out of every four South African who voted in special elections abroad on 27 April 2019 voted for the Democratic Alliance (DA).
Results released by the IEC in Pretoria show that 14 802 people, representing 74.45% of all votes cast outside South Africa, voted for the DA, while the ANC secured 10.83% of the overseas vote. Some 4.57% of voters chose the Freedom Front Plus.
A total of 19 909 votes were cast abroad.
The figure below (IEC website elections.org.za) shows how the top 20 parties fared at polling stations outside South Africa.
