The PSL champions closed the gap to seven points but Chiefs might stretch the lead again tonight if they beat Stellenbosch in Cape Town.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has once again mocked PSL log leaders Kaizer Chiefs, after his team beat AmaZulu FC in a league match on Tuesday night.

The PSL champions closed the gap to seven points but Chiefs might stretch the lead again tonight if they beat Stellenbosch in Cape Town.

Mosimane attacked Amakhosi after his team beat Golden Arrows in a Telkom Knockout Cup last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mosimane has been nominated for the CAF Coach of the Year alongside Senegalese Alious Cisse, Nigeria’s Coach Gernot Rohr and Algerian Coach Djamel Belmadi.

Sundowns players Denis Onyango and Themba Zwane have also been nominated for CAF award. Mosimane is happy for another nomination.

Sundowns will meet Maritzburg United in the Telkom Cup final on the 14th of next month at Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban.

They are supposed to play a league match against Stellenbosch three days before the final. Should the PSL move the match talisman Gaston Sirino will miss the match. Mosimane is hoping they postpone the match.

Another Sundowns talisman Themba Zwane has been on the sidelines for the past weeks due to an injury.

Mosimane is hoping that he will recover in time for their Caf Champions league clash against Moroccans Wydad Casablanca and Maritzburg.

On-loan striker Jeremy Brockie from Maritzburg was barred from playing against his former team in the league match earlier this season. Mosimane is perplexed that he is not allowed to play against them.

Meanwhile, Sundowns league fixtures have been thrown into turmoil after CAF decided to move the fixtures to early next year.

Mosimane says they have been negotiating with the league to re-arrange the fixtures. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
