Zanu-PF has failed Zimbabwe: Tsvangirai

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Zimbabwe’s opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai says the firing of Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa is bound to cause instability in the country.

However, he says it is also an opportunity to strategise before next year’s presidential elections.

Tsvangirai who  is undergoing treatment for colon cancer in South Africa,  says Mugabe’s Zanu-PF had failed the country.

“The biggest fear is the issue of instability; if we take the route of unconstitutional change of government we might as well kiss the democratic project goodbye next year. This opportunity could not have come at a better time but we need to create conditions for free and fair elections,” says Tsvangirai.
