Moretele parents wants the education department to build a new school for their children

Frustrated parents at the Thulwe primary school outside Makapanstad in Moretele in the North West are demanding that a new school be built.

The Department of Employment and Labour closed three school blocks, including the administration block.

Parents say they have been engaging the Department of Basic Education about poor infrastructure since 2019 but that their concerns have been ignored.

“We have a very big challenge, we are concerned about the environment, around the school, and even the buildings, which were built many many years ago, without any assistant from the government by improving the current status which is very bad.”

“I have a problem with this school because I just want to remove my son from this school. This school is damaged, so government [is] supposed to try to help us to build our school.”
