More woes for Doom pastor

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A chief inspector in the Limpopo Agriculture Department has confirmed that she opened a case against a pastor who sprayed his congregation with the Doom insecticide.

Catherine Mabitsela has testified in the trial against pastor Lethebo Rabalago, which is underway in the Mookgopong Magistrate’s Court.

Mabitsela says she learned about Rabalago’s activities after receiving a report at her workplace. She then gathered evidence from pictures and videos published on social media as well as newspaper articles.

Mabitsela has told the court that she laid criminal charges against Rabalago under the Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act of 1947.

Under the act, it is illegal to use any agricultural remedy for purposes not intended for.

Mabitsela says it was her responsibility to report Rabalago, as she believes he was misleading people by saying Doom can heal if he speaks to it.
