More than 20 motor vehicle accidents have been recorded on Johannesburg roads since this morning.
The Metro Police Department is urging motorists to drive extra cautiously today, due to wet road surfaces as a result of continuous downpours in the province.
JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar, “A total of 21 accidents have occurred in Johannesburg since 6 o’clock this morning. Two occupants were trapped inside their vehicle which overturned on the N12 east near Xavier Street off-ramp. Motorists are urged to exercise caution on wet roads and it is necessary to reduce speed and keep headlights on and not to drive recklessly on roads where it is raining.”
