More schools have been temporarily closed in Limpopo following positive coronavirus cases. The Selelo Primary School at De Vrede in Blouberg has been closed after six teachers tested positive for COVID-19.

Piet Hugo Primary School and Noordeland Secondary School in Polokwane have also temporarily been closed for disinfection.

Some learners are calling for the closure of all schools until the infection rate goes down, while others feel they have already missed out on a lot of learning time.

Here are what some learners had to say:

“I live in fear but I think they should not close schools, they must just put the country in a tighter lockdown.”

“The lockdown has affected our school work negatively because we don’t come to school enough.”

“I worry that I might get infected.”

“I am scared but I think they must close schools until the infection rate goes down.”
