The Premier Soccer League (PSL) will on Wednesday evening observe a moment of silence for the Ellis Park disaster victims, Mama Winnie Nomzamo Madikizela-Mandela and Mr Zola Skweyiya.
Mr Skweyiya, one of the veterans of the struggle against Apartheid, has passed on.
The moment of silence will apply at all Absa Premiership matches on Wednesday.
The PSL statement reads: ‘The League today remembers the 43 supporters who lost their lives during the Ellis Park disaster on 11 April 2001.
‘The moment of silence for Ms Madikizela-Mandela will continue until she is buried on Saturday together with the banner message.’
