Mokoena enjoying domestic cricket

Rockville Soweto-born Grant Mokoena is enjoying his domestic cricket at Free State Cricket Union affiliate VKB Knights who are affiliated to the Free State Cricket Union.

The 32-year-old batsman is satisfied with the way preparations are going on ahead of the new season.

The Knights are currently training six days a week preparing for the 4-day domestic series that kicks-off in October.

They begin their campaign on Monday the 7th when they go up against the Warriors at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley.

Earlier this year the Knights finished off 4th in the last 4-day series that started in September last year, they delivered a poor performance, a far cry from previous years.

Mokoena shares some of the lessons they have learnt from their last unsuccessful 4-day.

Before joining the Knights, Mokoena also batted for Gauteng and the Highveld Lions. In a career spanning ten years Mokoena looks back at some highlights of his career.

Mokoena, who celebrated his birthday a few days ago, says that in any sports there will also be lows.

Mokoena represented South Africa in the 2006 U/19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka.
