Chair of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), Thandi Modise says that Parliament must be dynamic and hold the executives to account in efforts to comprehensively address the needs of rural women.
She is currently leading a multiparty parliamentary delegation to this year’s Commission on the Status of Women in New York.
Modise has also emphasised the need for members of legislatures to scrutinise departmental budgets to ensure that adequate amounts are earmarked towards gender equality.
