The Western Cape Health Department says it’s making good strides in bringing COVID-19 vaccinations to communities through a Mobile Wellness Bus initiative.

The department says it has so far travelled to communities including Philadelphia, Fisantekraal and Klipheuwel to register and vaccinate people.

The province has administered 1 288 985 vaccines so far.

Health spokesperson, Shimoney Regter, says the bus will be at the Kraaifontein Day Hospital on Friday.

“The bus will be stationed at the day hospital every Friday in August from 08:30 am until 15:00. Residents are reminded to bring along their IDs. We encourage community members to make use of the opportunity to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones as we continue the fight against the coronavirus.”
