Zimbabwe’s first lady Grace Mugabe has accused vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa of wanting to stage a coup in the country.
Addressing a multi-church gathering in Harare Sunday, the first lady said Mnangagwa wanted to wrestle power from President Robert Mugabe since the 1980s.
Mnangagwa has been under pressure since reports suggested that a section of the ruling ZanuPF wants him to succeed Robert Mugabe.
Grace Mugabe says she is prepared to be a lone voice in demanding disciplinary action against Mnangagwa.
“You will never rise again. You will be walking but you will be a grave. You will be breathing but you will be dead. I am in this position. He wanted to wrestle power from the president. Let me tell you, since the 1980s, he has always wanted a coup.”
