Zimbabwe President elect, Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Zimbabwe President elect Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged all Zimbabweans to rally behind him as he seeks to lead the country to peace and prosperity following his elections win.

He’s made the comments in a live television address.

The opposition MDC Alliance has rejected the elections result – including ZANU PF’s securing of almost 70% of National Assembly seats.

The opposition says they will take the matter to the courts.

But Mnangagwa has urged all Zimbabweans to unite and has pledged to be a President for all, including those who did not vote for him.

Watch Mnangagwa’s press briefing below:

Earlier, Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa says the party does not accept the Zimbabwe election results and will pursue all legal means to challenge ZANU PF’s National Assembly and Presidential wins.

Mnangagwa narrowly beat Chamisa in the Presidential poll.
