In a statement from the Public Protector’s office, Mkhwebane says that she has no doubt that she exercised her powers and performed her functions without fear, favour or prejudice as is required by the Constitution.

Mkhwebane found that Ramaphosa deliberately misled Parliament and contravened the executive ethics code when he initially said the Bosasa money was paid to his son.

The report’s remedial action includes that the NPA investigate the matter for alleged money laundering.

President Ramaphosa says although he respects the office of the Public Protector,  her findings are flawed in both fact and the law.

He was speaking at a media conference in Pretoria on Sunday.
