The baby dubbed, Little Wonder Woman is finally healthy enough to leave the hospital. Baby Jazeel Hlophe was born almost 5 months ago , micro-premature at just under 400 grams.
She defied the odds and has grown stronger over the days. On Saturday she went home for the first time.
Arriving in the world three months ahead of time Baby Hlophe spent much of it in the neonatal intensive care unit.
“At 25 weeks babies born then are categorised as born on the brink on viability. Their systems are immature,” said Netcare neonatologist Dr Klass Mnisi.
The little wonder woman’s progress proves that with the right care miracles are possible.
