Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Ministerial Task Team, that President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed to look into the state of governance in the North West, has arrived in the province on a week-long fact-finding mission.

The task team includes ministers Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Nhlanhla Nene and Aaron Motswaledi. They will look at alleged corruption in some departments and the collapse of the Health Department.

Last week, the national government invoked a section of the constitution to facilitate placing the Department under administration. The task team will compile a report which it will submit to cabinet next week.

The task team’s spokesperson Lungi Mtshali explains that the task team is ready for the challenges it will face in the North West.

“The task team which has made of officials from different departments that are part of Ministerial Task team, as appointed by the President, has just arrived. We have a full compliment of officials to really do a fact finding on the state of the province. This is in preparations of the Ministerial Committee meeting of the Ministers which is going to happen at the end of the week,” Mtshali says.
