Minister Nathi to deliver the keynote address to mark Reconciliation Day in Kakamas near Upington

Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa is expected to deliver a keynote address to mark Reconciliation Day at the Cilliers sports ground in Kakamas near Upington in the Northern Cape on Thursday.

The 2021 commemorations will take place under the theme “The year of Charlotte Maxeke” Promoting Reconciliation during the 25th Anniversary of the Constitution.

Reconciliation Day is held annually on 16 December to foster reconciliation among South Africans. This year’s commemoration comes 27 years post-Apartheid.

Some people have expressed the need for peacebuilding in the country to achieve reconciliation.
