The Metrorail central line in Cape Town has been out of service for two weeks due to vandalism.

Metrorail says its central line in Cape Town will remain closed.

The line has been out of service for two weeks due to vandalism.

A R25 000 reward has been offered for information leading to a conviction.

Metrorail Spokesperson Riana Scott says commuters using the Khayelitsha-Bishop Lavis line will have to use alternative transport.

Monthly ticket holders will however be able to use the bus services during off peak times.

Scott says technical teams are busy with repairs and making safety checks before services can be reinstated.
