KwaZulu-Natal premier Willies Mchunu, Transport MEC Mxolisi Kaunda, and truck owners are locked in a meeting behind closed doors in Durban to try and find a solution in a dispute between South African truck drivers and those who are foreign nationals.
This after the dispute led to a violent protest on the N3 highway near the Mooi River Toll Plaza in the Midlands Sunday evening. Local truck drivers are reportedly accusing foreign drivers of stealing their jobs.
Dozens of trucks were damaged, torched or looted.
