Independent Police Investigative Directorate ( IPID) head Robert McBride is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court Tuesday morning for allegedly assaulting his daughter a few months ago.
McBride is facing a charge of child abuse with an alternative charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The case was previously postponed.
This was to give him an opportunity to make representations to the National Prosecuting Authority why he should not be prosecuted.
He was granted a R10 000 bail on condition that he does not contact any of the witnesses.
