People’s Poet Mzwakhe Mbuli has defended Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s 90% local content policy during the former SABC COO’s hearing at the CCMA in Johannesburg.
Mbuli says they have been trying hard to get the SABC to prioritise local content on their platforms without success.
Motsoeneng is challenging his dismissal from the SABC.
He was sacked for bringing the public broadcaster into disrepute after he held a media briefing where he also attacked the SABC board.
Motsoeneng claims his removal was unfair and politically motivated.
Mbuli says it is disgusting that the 90% local content policy was reversed.
Mbuli outlines how hard they have been pushing to get local content into SABC but Krish Naidoo was never involved in those tough times when dogs were set on them #sabcnews

Mbuli recalls that in 1996 they invaded Metro Fm for playing foreign music… they thought after 1994 there would be more local music on radio… in 1997 they took a memorandum to Madiba himself #sabcnews
