Fikile Mbalula has quit his ANC MP post.

Former Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has resigned as African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament.

Mbalula was appointed ANC Head of Elections after President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet reshuffle two weeks ago.

ANC Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu has confirmed that Mbalula has resigned as the party’s Member of Parliament.

However, Mthembu says Mbalula will continue to serve the ANC as the party’s Head of Elections.

Bheki Cele has since taken over the Police portfolio.
