The Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane Randall Williams has apologised to residents who are still without power after five days.
Parts of Pretoria East were plunged into darkness after the Wapadrand Substation burnt out early Saturday evening.
The teams had to clear out the debris before removing the burnt-out panels.
On Wednesday, they had to modify the replacement panels which caused a further delay.
Local shops and malls are providing free coffee and charging stations for residents with one church erecting workstations with plugs, free Wi-Fi and pannekoek.
Williams says the repair work will be done soon.
