Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has commended markers for the sterling work of marking exam scripts and finishing ahead of schedule.

The markers have now completed marking the 2017 National Senior Certificate exam papers.

Lesufi visited the Kempton Park marking centre in the south of Johannesburg on Thursday morning.

The Independent Examination Board’s matric results are due to be released January 2 while those for the National Senior Certificate on the fifth.

Lesufi says he’s happy with the process of the marking of exam papers.

He says he was touched by their commitment and their hard work.

He says: “There are some subjects that they’ve already finished marking well ahead of schedule and also there are subjects that they are going to finish now which means that the province will be ready to prepare everyone so that we can release the results,” says Lesufi.
