Matric gets off to a good start

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Department of Basic Education says the first day of matric exams (October 28) went smoothly. The first exam was English Paper 1.

More than 700 000 matriculants will be writing exams this year.

The department of education is hoping for a pass rate this year of 75% or better.

Matric results are usually released early January and learners that are not happy with certain subjects can apply for a rewrite. There are a few places to get your results but the vast majority of students prefer looking up their results in the newspaper.
