Mass action threat over ‘ill-treatment’ of Lesotho King

A group calling itself Free Basotho Movement is organising  mass action following what they consider an embarrassing ill-treatment of the Lesotho King recently and unfair handling of Basotho whose passports have been declared ‘unwanted person’ refused entry into South Africa for a five year period.

Traffic has peaked at Maseru Bridge amid fears of a possible border blockade Monday.

A group calling itself Free Basotho Movement is organising  mass action following what they consider an embarrassing ill-treatment of the Lesotho King recently and unfair handling of Basotho whose passports have been declared ‘unwanted person’ refused entry into South Africa for a five year period.

Many church goers were forced to cut short their Sunday services opting to leave early and avoid risking their jobs.

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba was in Lesotho before Easter, meeting his Lesotho counterpart to find a lasting solution to the border crisis.

International Relations Minister Lindiwe Sisulu will be going to Lesotho after Easter Holidays to personally render an apology to Lesotho King to avert a possible diplomatic standoff between the two counties.
