Mashaba still pondering his future

Outgoing mayor of Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba says he will taking a break before deciding on his future.

He was approached by journalists on the sidelines of a joint meeting of Parliament’s Home Affairs and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs committees.

This is after Mashaba announced his resignation as mayor and member of the Democratic Alliance.

He would not entertain questions relating to his resignation or party affairs. On his future plans, Mashaba says he needs time to decide.

“Give me time to relax and I will respond at an appropriate time once I have relaxed, I need time to think about it.”

Mashaba, who took office in 2016, expressed deep concerned about the politics of the DA – and will cease serving as Mayor from the 27th of November.
