Maponya’s memorial service to be held on Friday

Richard Maponya passed away last week Monday, aged 99.

Businessman Dr Richard Maponya’s memorial service will take place in Johannesburg on Friday morning.

On Thursday President Cyril Ramaphosa granted Maponya a Special Official Funeral Category 2 to be held next Tuesday. The President has also instructed that flags be flown at half-mast from Friday until the evening of Maponya’s burial.

Friday’s memorial service will take place at the Rosebank Union Church in Sandton, north of Johannesburg.

Maponya died after a short illness in a Johannesburg hospital at the age of 99.
