US President Joe Biden said the Group of Seven industrialised nations had agreed to move forward on”devastating packages of sanctions and other economic measures to hold Russia to account.

This follows the decision by Russian President Vladimir Putin to send troops into Ukraine.

Several countries have already started imposing sanctions on Russia.
