Mpumalanga police are searching for a group of suspects who robbed a G4S cash in transit vehicle on the road between eLukwatini and Mbombela on Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Jabu Ndubane says when the cash-in transit vehicle approached a bakkie parked on the side of the road, it came under fire.
She says the security officers driving the cash vehicle were forced to stop.
“They were ordered to get out of the vehicle and they were ordered to lie down, as they lay down explosives were used to blast the car. An undisclosed amount of money was taken,” says Ndubane.
