A 21-year-old man is expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrates court Wednesday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl in KwaThema, on Gauteng’s East Rand.
It is understood that the suspect was seen by the girl’s grandmother at a local taxi rank when she alerted police who quickly arrested him.
The suspect was then identified by the girl and charged with kidnapping and rape.
EMPD spokesperson, Wilfred Kgasago says that when the grandmother saw the person at the taxi rank in Vlakfontein, she also noticed the EMPD officials’ closeby whom she alerted, they arrested the person and the victim identified the perpetrator.
