Man to appear in court for killing two JMPD officers

The alleged drunk driver who drove into and killed two Johannesburg Metro Police officers at a roadblock will be back in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Albert Pretorius in his affidavit has said that he had consumed three drinks and had been on prescription medication when the incident took place.

The two female JMPD officers‚ Winnie Mokgolo and Sophie Ngoasheng were fatally injured on the evening when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the roadblock.

The JMPD had a roadblock along Witkoppen Road near Montecasino north of Johannesburg.

Pretorius is facing two counts of culpable homicide and one of driving under the influence of alcohol.
