Reading Time: < 1 minute

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has slammed former President Thabo Mbeki and some in the ANC for their criticism of anti-apartheid struggle icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

He was speaking outside Mama Winnie’s home in Soweto on Saturday afternoon. Malema says no one has been criticised for the killings in the ANC camps when they were in exile, because they were men.

He says Mama Winnie is a victim of entrenched patriarchy in the ANC.

Meanwhile, a delegation from Ghana led by the country’s High Commissioner to South Africa has joined people paying their respects to Madikizela-Mandela.

Speaking outside the Madikizela-Mandela home in Orlando West Soweto on Saturday afternoon, Amoako Attah says they are saddened by the passing of Mama Winnie.
